Liao ShiouPing(1936~) World renowned artist from Taiwan. He has held more than 70 exhibitions in New York, Paris, Tokyo and many big cities around the world. Many of his works are collected by the museums over 40 countries, such as British Museum in London; Metropolitan Museum of Art in New York.; National Museum of Modern Art in Tokyo; Taipei Fine Arts Museum, Taiwan; Shanghai Museum of Art ¡ His unique symbolist cultural system derives from inscriptions on ancient bronze, drawings of antique ceramics, and Chinese religious, folklore art, he modernized these visual heritage, creating a syncretic language of western concept and oriental sensibility. Liao ShiouPing is also a driving force in Taiwan and mainland China's modernism print movement. He had his solo show in China National Art Museum in 2009. |
